A: An “authentic buffalo wing” refers to the way the wing is fried, and to the sauce applied. To qualify as an “authentic buffalo wing”, a wing must be fried naked (absolutely no coating of any kind), and sauced using a cayenne based hot sauce mixed with butter, such as Frank’s Red Hot.
Q. Are my wings from 5 Alarm ‘naked’?
A: Only if you specifically order them naked. Otherwise, our wings are dusted in a special mixture of flour and spices prior to cooking. Our specialty seasoned coating keeps the wings big and plump while complimenting any of our sauces or dry rubs. They also taste great plain!

A: Our dry rubs are homestyle recipes which include blends of spices, herbs and peppers that are hand-ground and mixed to give optimal, and often unique, flavours of wings. These will surely satisfy anyone who doesn’t prefer a saucy wing, or for the wing connoisseur who is searching for something different.
